Pinterest Inspired Birthday Wreath

So I've been pinning a lot on Pinterest lately (who hasn't) and I decided it was about time to pick one and make it already. Since ?I'm in full birthday mode I went for the Birthday wreath. I saw it first on this blog and pinned it here. Mine is a little different than both, but I've seen so many of these floating around and they are all cute. :)

Here's how it turned out. I'm not a fan of the forest green front door. A year and a half in this house and it's still on my to do list.

Here's the materials I used:

 - 14" Straw wreath (leave the plastic on. It's less messy)
 - 3 - 72 pack bags of balloons. I used most of the 3 packs
 - 4 - 50 packs of floral pins. The ones that look like giant staples.
 - Sparkly pipe cleaners
 - Ribbon. Enough to cover the wreath and make the bow to hang from.

I started by wrapping the wreath in sheer ribbon. As stated on lots of sites, the ribbon makes it so you don't need to worry as much about covering the edges with ballons. I chose sheer so that the straw texture was still visible. It took me 2 rolls of ribbon to cover it completely.

After adding all the balloons, I twisted pipe cleaners around a pencil and added them as well. It adds a little sparkle and fun. I may end up adding more. My girls and I love sparkle.

I added Happy Birthday ribbon that I had laying around. It happened to be purple and sheer, so it worked out perfect. Maddie was super excited to see it up. I'm going to search to find some polka dotted or patterned ballons to add some texture to it. I'll post an update if I find some. :)
