Millie Rose Pattern Review - Double Ruffle Dress

Here is the Double Ruffle Dress by Millie Rose Patterns This pattern review is a little late. I reviewed this pattern at the end of last year. I loved this dress so much that I even used this pattern for my girls' Christmas dresses and then somehow this draft got misplaced. This really is a great pattern and it takes so much less fabric than most ruffly patterns but it still has that twirly girly look that my girls are always after.

I made Miss Abby the size 5 and the fit is beautiful. She usually wears RTW 5/6.
I had to take my pictures in the garage because I made this during a crazy snow storms we kept having in Ohio. Abby was in rare form and was all into choosing her own poses. I hope you enjoy. :)
The bodice has a great fit and has a nice finished look to it.
She calls this her princess pose.

The pattern calls for 2 rows of elastic in the back but I went with shirring instead. I prefer the look and fit of the shirring. The sweet sash finishes the look nicely.

I'll leave you with the outtakes that are my awesome little lady.

Easter Dresses

I was waiting for some better weather to get the girls outside and take pictures of their Easter dresses but the snow just won't go away so please excuse the bad lighting. I used the Almost Famous Tulle Dress by Whimsy Couture to make these dresses. I learned that shirring with elastic thread is not a scary as it seems and tulle is a pain in the but to sew.

I decided to add a special touch to the dresses by embroidering the girls names on the ends of the straps.

Now for the picture overload because well....they're that cute!

And for those super rare moments when they are getting along and being loving to each other my favorite is below.

Many nights and about 20 yards of tulle later I loved how these dresses turned out and so do my little ladies.
