Valentine's Day Tradition

When I was a little girl my mom used to bake heart shaped muffins for my sisters and I every Valentine's Day. About 5 years ago I was at Walmart and happened to walk by the exact same muffin pan just sitting on the shelf. Wish I would have grabbed 2 but now my I get to keep the same tradition with my girls.

And here we have a really bad smart phone pic of my girls from this morning. It's really hard to get a good picture at 5:30 in the morning. There is just no light. :-/

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

Veggie Tales Live!!!!

I probably love Veggie Tales as much as my girls do. When I got an email that they were in town I jumped at the chance to take the girls to see them live. It didn't hurt that tickets were only $12 and my Abby was free. YAY!! Wednesday was the big show and we had a blast. They went through most of their silly songs. There were kids dancing in the isle  anndsinging along. It was  great. If they come to your  area I highly recommend you get tickets.

Sorry the picture is a little blurry. I took it with my phone. I let them each pick out one stuffed toy before the show. Maddie chose Petunia and Abby chose Alfred. We already owned Bob and Larry.

My youngest and I. She's my mini me. Maddie didn't want to stop playing with her new toy long enough for a picture.
 The beginning of the show.

The part my girls were the most excited for was Bob and Larry.
"I Love My Lips" is my favorite Veggie Tale song.
Don't remember what song this is but it has Junior Asparagus so or course it was awesome

Abby was loving the show. She was dancing in the isle and having a ball!

Apple Picking

I took my girls apple picking today at Lynds Fruit Farm. It's about 5 miles from our house and we are able to pick different fruits and pumpkins throughout the year. We all had a great time. I think that the girls' favorite part was the sample as you go policy that the farm has. We picked Red Delicious, Golden Delicious and Jonagold apples. Our first goal is crock pot applesauce. If it turns out I'll post the recipe later this week.

Now for all the awesome orchard pictures!

First Day of School

Yesterday was my oldest daughter's first day of Kindergarten. She's going to the same school that she attended Pre-K at but there is something about the sweet little uniform that makes this seem so grown.

Here's the closeup of the sign. I've seen this idea all over facebook and the web and I think it's a very cute way to document your child year after year. Maddie's new career choice is to be a Farmer. She says that unlike a Vet, Farmers get to keep their animals. :)

I don't know what's with my girls, but they love to pose.

Before I dropped her off for her first day of Kindergarten we stopped at Tim Hortons for a special breakfast.

4th of July at Kings Island

The Mister and I took our girls to Kings Island for the 4th of July. We like that they do specials for Military families so we were  able to get there on a budget. We packed a lunch a bunch of water bottles and some snacks and had a blast. It was in the 90's and super hot, but a little bit of ice cream and some water rides and we were good to go. :) The Mister posted a ton of pictures of our adventure on his blog. If you click on the picture it will take you to the rest. :)

Outings with the Kiddos

My cousin told me before I had kids that she dressed her girls alike when she had them out and about so that if one wandered off she could look at the other and tell people, 'this is what she was wearing'. While up til now I haven't had to use this idea, I think it's a good one. I also try to put bright colors on my girls when we are on outings. As you can see, it makes it super easy to spot them in a crowd. :)
