My girls are huge fans of dresses and have both recently requested "long dresses" aka Maxi dresses. You can see Abby's here. When Jenny over at Seamingly Smitten contacted me about a pattern review for the Teen/Tween Maxi Dress the timing couldn't be more perfect. Now I realize that my newly 6 year old is not a Tween, let alone a Teen, but the pattern starts at a size 8 and that's where she is right now size wise. This super easy and beautiful pattern goes up to a size 16 in girls so it will definitely get tons of use.
There are a few different variations in the instructions for the straps as well as length variations for short, regular, and long sizes. I went with the regular but I should have gone with the short so I had to take a bit of the legth out after she tried it on.
We are a military family and I LOVE red, white, and blue for the summer, not just for the 4th of July. Even better, I found these cottons at Joann's for about $3 a yard making this dress an under $5 project. Woo-Hoo!
Since I think my 6 year old looks way to grown in this dress, here a silly shot to remind me that she's still my little girl. :)
If you like this pattern and would like to see other patterns that I have reviewed please head over to my Pattern Review Page to check them out.
